Thread steel bar

Hot rolled ribbed bar is also called screw-thread steel. Its types are composed of HRB and the

minimum of type yield point. H, R and B are the first letters of Hot rolled, Ribbed and Bar. Hot

rolled ribbed bar has four types, they are HRB335（grade Ⅱ, old type: 20MnSi,

HRB400（grade Ⅲ, old type: 20MnSiV, 20MnSiNb and 20MnTi, HRB500（grade Ⅳ) and

HRB600.

There are three external forms for ribbed bar, spiral, herringbone and crescent. Generally steel

bars of grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ are milled to be herringbone and steel bar of class Ⅳ spiral and

crescent.  Main use: Widely used in the civil engineering construction of house, bridge and

road.

Main producing area: producers of screw-thread steel are mainly in north China and northeast,

such as Capital Steel, Tang Steel, Xuan Steel, Cheng Steel, Purui Steel in north China, Xilin

Steel, Beitai Steel and Fu Steel in northeast. The output in these two areas accounts for about

more than 50% of the total yield of screw-thread steel.
